Mongolia’s Nadaam Festival kicks off! The opening ceremony of Mongolia’s National Naadam Festival was held on Saturday.
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and First Lady Kim Hea Kyung attended the ceremony as guests of honor during their State Visit to #Mongolia. It marks the first time a South Korean president has been invited to the country’s biggest national celebration.
The word “Naadam” means games, play, and fun in Mongolian. The festival centers on the nation’s three traditional “masculine” sports: horse racing, archery, and wrestling. It is listed by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage in 2010
