Defending Tour de France champion Tadej Pogačar produced a dominant performance to win Stage 6 and reclaim the prestigious Yellow Jersey.
The sixth stage covered 186.2 kilometers and marked the first mountain stage of this year’s race. The 27-year-old Slovenian, who is the favorite to win the Tour for a fifth time, launched a decisive attack in the final five kilometers, leaving his closest rival, Jonas Vingegaard, well behind.
Pogačar completed the stage in 4 hours, 32 minutes, and 7 seconds, strengthening his overall lead in the general classification. The victory also allowed him to take back the Yellow Jersey from Norway’s Tobias Halland Johannessen, who dropped to 51st place after being involved in a collision with other riders during the stage, costing him the race lead.
