The Bangladeshi government stepped in to prevent the sacrifice of a rare white buffalo with golden hair that had become famous for resembling U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to a British news agency, the rare white buffalo, nicknamed “Donald Trump” because of its golden hair, was ultimately spared from being sacrificed on Eid-ul-Adha.
An official from Bangladesh’s Ministry of Interior told the news agency that the government intervened at the last moment to stop the animal from being slaughtered.
The buffalo, weighing around 700 kilograms, had already been sold for sacrifice. However, after gaining extraordinary public attention before Eid, authorities took action due to security concerns.
Bangladeshi Interior Minister Salahuddin Ahmed ordered that the buffalo be saved from sacrifice, the buyer be refunded, and the animal be transferred to the national zoo in Dhaka.
Initially, the buffalo was an ordinary animal purchased for Eid sacrifice, but after videos of it went viral on social media, it became famous across the country. People from distant areas have been visiting to see its golden hair and calm nature, and to take pictures with it.
