New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani has said that globally renowned singer Taylor Swift paid more than $160,000 for security, police arrangements, and official permits for her wedding ceremony.
According to the mayor, the amount covered the cost of permits, police deployment, and other municipal services required for the private event held in New York, ensuring that no additional financial burden was placed on the city’s public resources.
According to U.S. media reports, 36-year-old Taylor Swift married NFL star Travis Kelce in New York last week. The ceremony was attended by close family members, friends, and other invited guests. Due to strict security measures, several nearby streets were temporarily closed during the event.
While the expenses for security and official arrangements have been confirmed, the total cost of the wedding has not been officially disclosed. However, some U.S. media reports estimate that the lavish ceremony may have cost around $15 million.
