Lahore: Pakistan and India are set to renew their historic hockey rivalry this month, with two highly anticipated matches scheduled in London on June 23 and June 26.
Ticket sales for both encounters are already underway as fans eagerly await another chapter in one of hockey’s most celebrated rivalries.
The Pakistan hockey team is currently holding a training camp in Lahore to prepare for the upcoming fixtures. As part of the FIH Pro League schedule, the national squad will depart for Belgium on June 9.
Pakistan will face Belgium on June 13 and Spain on June 14 before taking on Belgium again on June 19 and Spain on June 20. These matches were originally scheduled for June 16 and 17 but were later rescheduled.
After completing their matches in Belgium, the Green Shirts will travel to London on June 21 for the final phase of the tournament.
Pakistan will take on arch-rivals India on June 23, followed by a match against England on June 24. The two Asian rivals will then meet again on June 26 before Pakistan concludes its Pro League campaign against England on June 27.
The tournament has been challenging for Pakistan so far, with the team losing all eight of its matches. Without a single point, Pakistan currently sits at the bottom of the league standings.
Retaining its place in the Pro League remains the team’s biggest challenge, as the lowest-ranked team among the nine participating nations is relegated at the end of each season.
