It was an ordinary evening in a quiet village where nothing unusual ever seemed to happen. The sun was slowly setting, and the air carried a peaceful stillness… but beneath that calm was a tragedy waiting to unfold.
On the outskirts of the village stood an old tree. Beneath it, a dog was tied with a rope. It rarely barked, only occasionally looking around as if waiting for someone. High up in the branches, a beehive had formed—unnoticed by most people who passed by every day.
That evening, a group of children happened to walk past. Laughter filled the air when one of them jokingly said, “What happens if we throw a stone at the beehive?”
In that moment, curiosity turned into action.
A stone was thrown.
For a few seconds… everything went silent. Even the wind seemed to stop.
Then came the sound.
A deep, rising hum—like something waking up. The beehive, once calm, suddenly came alive. The air filled with a violent buzzing that grew louder with every passing second.
The dog began barking wildly, pulling against its rope, sensing danger but unable to escape. It jumped and twisted, trying desperately to break free, but the rope held it in place.
Within moments, the bees swarmed.
What started as confusion turned into chaos. The dog was surrounded, attacked from all sides, helpless and trapped beneath the tree.
From a distance, villagers heard the disturbance and rushed toward the scene. But by the time they arrived, the chaos had already faded into an eerie silence.
The tree still stood there. The beehive still hung above. And beneath it… the dog lay motionless.
No one could say for sure how it began—whether it was just a careless act, a childish mistake, or something far more reckless.
But the question lingered in the air long after the crowd left:
Was it really just a game… or a tragedy caused by a single moment of thoughtlessness?
