In the U.S. state of Missouri, a man has been sentenced to nine years in prison for killing his girlfriend’s friend’s dog by stabbing it, as an act of revenge against his girlfriend.
The man, identified as Andrew Knepper, killed the pet dog belonging to his girlfriend’s friend and later left the animal’s body outside the owner’s house. He also sent a message to the woman via the social networking site Snapchat, saying, “It looks like you’re having a rough day.”
The court in Cape Girardeau sentenced Andrew Knepper to nine years in prison for animal abuse, theft, and stalking his girlfriend. According to the court, when the dog’s owner heard a knock at the door and opened it, she found the remains of her dog inside a garbage bag at her doorstep.
The woman told police that Andrew and her friend had been in contact for some time. When Andrew began stalking and harassing her friend, they filed a complaint with the police. The dog’s owner believed that after the complaint was filed, Andrew killed her dog in retaliation.
