We have heard many stories of dogs’ loyalty, but in Turkey a dog set a new example of devotion.
The dog waited for several days outside a hospital in Turkey, where its sick owner was being treated.
The dog, named Boncuk, had followed the ambulance while it was taking its sick owner to the hospital.
The owner was admitted to a hospital in the city of Trabzon, after which the dog would go and stand outside the medical facility every day.
The daughter of the patient, Enver Eagli, said that she used to take the dog back home every day, but it would run away and return to the hospital again.
A hospital security guard said, “This dog comes and stands outside the gate every morning at 9 a.m. and waits for its owner until night, but it has never tried to go inside.”
He added that whenever the hospital door opened, the dog would always peek inside by sticking its head in.
This week, the dog finally met its owner when he was brought outside in a wheelchair.
On this occasion, the owner said, “It is very attached to me, and I also missed it very much.”
After recovering from illness, the owner was discharged from the hospital and has now returned home with his dog.
