After rendering remarkable service, U.S. military dog Douglas has officially retired from active duty.
According to foreign media reports, Douglas served alongside the United States Army for eight years as part of its renowned “four-legged fighter” unit. During his service, Douglas carried out several critical missions, from assignments linked with the United Nations to operations in Iraq.
While serving in the military, Douglas played a vital role in detecting explosive materials and ensuring the safety of troops in high-risk zones. His dedication and bravery made him a valuable asset to the force.
Douglas performed his duties under the supervision of his handler, Sergeant Justin Payton. A few years ago, the dog also gained widespread attention on social media when a photograph of him wearing protective goggles went viral.
Following his retirement, Douglas will now spend his life with his handler and his family, enjoying a well-deserved peaceful and retired life after years of loyal service.
