Washington: A lost pet dog in the United States has been reunited with its owners after 10 years.
An American animal shelter helped a family reunite with their long-lost pet dog after more than a decade.
Miami-Dade Animal Services in the U.S. state of Florida shared on social media that at the beginning of this month, a dog was brought into the shelter and its microchip was scanned.
The scan revealed that the dog’s name is Buttercup, it is 15 years old, and had been missing for 10 years.
With the help of the microchip, shelter staff contacted Buttercup’s owners and reunited them with their pet after all those years. The shelter’s post noted that moments like these show why microchips are so important.
