A strange and astonishing incident in China has made a local man unexpectedly wealthy.
According to Chinese media, a man slaughtered a duck and discovered gold inside its stomach, a discovery that surprised not only locals but also people on social media.
Media reports say that in February this year, a villager in Hunan province, China, slaughtered a duck and found particles of gold inside its stomach.
After laboratory tests and further examination of the particles found in the duck’s stomach, it was confirmed that they were indeed gold. The particles weighed about 10 grams, and their total value was estimated at around 12,000 yuan (about 1,800 US dollars ).
The local man and his father described the incident as a matter of good luck.
The man explained that the duck had been raised near an ancient area famous for gold mining, and it is possible that the duck swallowed the gold particles along with soil from that area.
He also claimed that in the past, other villagers had found gold in the stomachs of ducks as well, but the amount of gold discovered this time was much larger than previous cases.
