New York: American experts have stated that humans possess the ability to understand and address the problems of their pets, especially dogs.
A study conducted at Oregon State University in the United States examined the impact of human behavior on animals and how it is implemented. The findings revealed that merely saving the life of an injured animal does not fully resolve the issue; rather, the real matter lies in alleviating its loneliness.
The research also found that people who own dogs, in particular, have the ability to recognize and resolve their pets’ problems without necessarily taking them to a veterinarian—although many individuals are unaware that they possess this capability.
According to university professor Lauren Brubaker, we often assume that it is not possible for humans to truly understand animals’ problems or distress. However, the study produced results that were surprising for everyone.
The research report further stated that owners train their dogs to enhance their intelligence and keep them alert and active. It also noted that 31 animals were observed to receive a particularly high level of human attention.
Lauren Brubaker explained that there is a clear difference in training between domestic and stray dogs. Pet dogs receive various forms of training from their owners, whereas dogs roaming the streets and highways are generally unable to comprehend human behavior.
She added that dogs raised in homes learn proper indoor behavior, such as knowing not to interfere when food is being eaten and not disturbing someone while they are studying or working.
